Diagnosis of Noise Inside Neonatal Incubators under Free-Field Conditions

The study aims to diagnose the sound pressure levels inside incubators in a controlled environment under free-field conditions. tests were carried out semi-anechoic room standard UNE-EN ISO 3745:2012/A1:2018 three different operating states: off, on, and on with temperature alarm triggered. Sound analyzed models of incubators, both outside. main noise indices corrected equivalent continuous level (LKeq) (Leq) third-octave bands. results obtained normal conditions showed variations among overall values between 48.8 56.3 dBA. influence considerably worsened these data. that premature newborns are exposed above international recommendations. All tested presence tonal components, outside incubator cabin, and, some cases, low-frequency but no impulsivity components observed any case.
